Omschrijving
Grote- of St. Laurenskerk. Laat-gotische kruisbasiliek, kooromgang en kapellen tegen de zijbeuken en het rechte gedeelte van de kooromgang. Houten overwelving, met uitzondering van de kapellen, die stenen kruisribgewelven dragen. Geheel uitgebrand mei 1940; restauratie 1951-1968. Tot de inventaris behoren: het koperen hekwerk van het in 1711-1715 vervaardigde koorhek, thans opgesteld tussen de koorpijlers; een renaissance-orgelkas, circa 1540, afkomstig uit de Herv. Kerk te Schoonhoven, in de zuidelijke transeptarm. In deze orgelkas een drieklaviers instrument met vrij pedaal, gemaakt in 1959 door de firma Marcussen uit Denemarken; grafmonument voor admiraal Kortenaer (1665), van Brakel (1690) en Witte de With (1658). In het koor een vroeg 18e eeuwse orgelkas met nieuwe onderkas. Hierin een nieuw instrument dat buiten de bescherming valt.

Description
Grote or St. Laurenskerk. Late Gothic cruciform basilica, choir ambulatory and chapels against the side aisles and the straight section of the choir ambulatory. Wooden vault, with the exception of the chapels, which carry stone cross-rib vaults. Completely gutted May 1940; restoration 1951-1968. The inventory includes: the copper screen of the choir screen made in 1711-1715, now installed between the choir piers; a Renaissance organ case, circa 1540, from the Reformed Church at Schoonhoven, in the southern transept arm. In this organ case a three-manual instrument with independent pedal, made in 1959 by the firm Marcussen from Denmark; monument for admiral Kortenaer (1665), van Brakel (1690) and Witte de With (1658). In the choir an early 18th century organ case with new lower case. In this a new instrument which falls outside the protection.
