Omschrijving
Toren der Grote of St. Laurenskerk. Ingebouwde westtoren. Bouw toren begonnen, 1448 en voltooid omstreeks 1525. Toren verhoogd 1547 tot 1555 en van een bovengeleding in gotiserende vormen voorzien, ter vervanging van een houten bekroning door H. de Keijser, in 1646-'47. Geheel uitgebrand in mei 1940, restauratie 1951-1968. Klokkenspel, waarvan 28 klokken gegoten door François Hemony in 1660 en 21 moderne klokken. Klokkenstoel bestaande uit een gelui met vier klokken waarvan twee van W. Hoerken, 1447, diam. resp. 169 en 113 cm en twee van François en Pieter Hemony, 1654. Trommelspeelwerk van F. Douw, 1661.

Description
Tower of the Grote or St. Laurenskerk. Built-in west tower. Construction of tower begun 1448 and completed circa 1525. Tower heightened 1547 to 1555 and provided with an upper section in Gothicising forms, in replacement of a wooden top by H. de Keijser, in 1646-'47. Completely gutted in May 1940, restoration 1951-1968. Carillon, of which 28 bells cast by François Hemony in 1660 and 21 modern bells. Bell frame consisting of a ring with four bells of which two by W. Hoerken, 1447, diam. respectively 169 and 113 cm and two by François and Pieter Hemony, 1654. Carillon action by F. Douw, 1661.
