Omschrijving
Raadhuis. Gesticht in 1463 als rechthuis. Na brand in 1513 herbouwd, in de XVIIIe eeuw zeer gewijzigd, 1938/39 gerestaureerd door A.A. Kok te Amsterdam. Rechthoekig bakstenen gebouw van twee verdiepingen boven een kelder; trapgevels aan de korte zijden, hoog bordes tegen de voorgevel. Tweebeukige kelder met vlakke kruisribgewelven in het midden rustend op zuiltjes met eenvoudige basementen en kapiteeltjes, tegen de wanden op kraagstenen; als raadszaal in gebruik. In de secretarie wandkast met fraai gesmeed laat-gotisch slot (plm 1500). Boven de ingang jaartal 1463.

Description
Town Hall. Founded in 1463 as a courthouse. Rebuilt after fire in 1513, greatly altered in the 18th century, restored in 1938/39 by A.A. Kok of Amsterdam. Rectangular brick building of two storeys above a cellar; stepped gables on the short sides, high external staircase against the front facade. Two-aisled cellar with flat cross-ribbed vaults in the middle resting on small columns with simple bases and capitals, on corbels against the walls; used as council chamber. In the secretariat wall cupboard with fine wrought late-Gothic lock (c. 1500). Above the entrance the date 1463.
