Voormalige BURGPOORT. Aan het hiervoor vermelde complex sloot voor de brand van 1940 de zogenaamde Burgpoort een doorgangspoort uit 1592 aan, die toegang gaf tot de Burg ter hoogte van de Koopmansbeurs. Deze poort en de daaraan grenzende bebouwing, die bij de restauratie rondom de eeuwwisseling reeds werd vernieuwd, werden in 1940 geheel verwoest. Het betreffende Abdijgedeelte werd nieuw herbouwd.

Description
Former BURGPOORT. Before the fire of 1940, the so-called Burgpoort, a passage gate from 1592, adjoined the aforementioned complex, which provided access to the Burg at the level of the Merchant Exchange. This gate and the adjoining buildings, which had already been renewed during restoration around the turn of the century, were completely destroyed in 1940. The relevant Abbey section was newly rebuilt.
