R.K. KERK van St. Jan. Gotische kruisbasiliek gesticht in 1394, gewijzigd in de negentiende eeuw, gerestaureerd en vergroot in 1929 door architect H.W. Valk. Bestaat thans uit een driebeukig schip met dwarspand uit de tweede helft van de 15e eeuw, een wat ouder, smaller en lager driezijdig gesloten koor (omstreeks 1400), omgeven door moderne aanbouwen, en tenslotte een toren uit omstreeks 1450 van baksteen met lagen natuursteen, rijk versneden overhoekse steunberen en versierd met spaarvelden en traceerwerk. Klokkentorentje op de oostelijke topgevel van het dwarspand (in de negentiende eeuw gewijzigd.) Klokkenstoel met klok van W. en Jasper Moer, 1500, diam. 131,3 cm. en een klok van J. en W. Hoerken, 1460, diam. 108,1 cm. Mechanisch torenuurwerk, Duits fabricaat, 1924, buiten gebruik gesteld. De toren in 1965 gerestaureerd. Voorts een tweeklaviers orgel met pedaal, gemaakt in 1941 door de firma Vermeulen uit Weert, gerestaureerd in 1981. Het instrument bevat belangrijk zeventiende en achttiende-eeuws pijpwerk. van het orgel is alleen dit monumentale pijpwerk van waarde uit het oogpunt van monumentenzorg.

Description
R.C. CHURCH of St. John. Gothic cruciform basilica founded in 1394, modified in the nineteenth century, restored and enlarged in 1929 by architect H.W. Valk. Now consists of a three-aisle nave with transept from the second half of the 15th century, a somewhat older, narrower and lower three-sided closed choir (circa 1400), surrounded by modern additions, and finally a tower from circa 1450 of brick with layers of natural stone, richly carved diagonal buttresses and decorated with spandrels and tracery. Bell-tower on the eastern gabled roof of the transept (modified in the nineteenth century.) Bell-frame with bell by W. and Jasper Moer, 1500, diam. 131.3 cm. and a bell by J. and W. Hoerken, 1460, diam. 108.1 cm. Mechanical tower clock, German manufacture, 1924, out of service. The tower restored in 1965. Furthermore a two-manual organ with pedal, made in 1941 by the firm Vermeulen from Weert, restored in 1981. The instrument contains important seventeenth and eighteenth-century pipework. Of the organ only this monumental pipework is of value from the standpoint of monument preservation.
