Omschrijving onderdeel 1:
KASTEEL, omgracht rechthoekig witgeschilderd bakstenen gebouw, in 1777 opgetrokken op de met graatgewelven overkluisde kelderverdieping van de middeleeuwse donjon. Boven de kelders twee bouwlagen onder het met grijze leien bedekte schilddak met achthoekige dakruiter onder klokvormig dakje. Het kasteel is aan de ingangszijde (= noordzijde) vijf ramen breed, aan de achterzijde vier. Na zware oorlogsschade is het huis in 1950 hersteld, waarbij de ramen van een kleine roedenverdeling werden voorzien. Onder de dakgoot in het midden van de voorgevel een wijzerplaat met het jaartal 1777 en op zolder het gerestaureerde uurwerk. Het huis staat in de binnengracht en is aangeaard; de smalle aanaarding is bedekt met veldkeien, blijkens oude foto een latere toevoeging.

Description of component 1:
CASTLE, moated rectangular whitewashed brick building, erected in 1777 on the cellar storey of the medieval keep, which is vaulted with groin vaults. Above the cellars two storeys under the hipped roof covered with grey slate with an octagonal roof turret under a bell-shaped roof. The castle is five windows wide on the entrance side (= north side), four on the rear side. After severe war damage the house was restored in 1950, whereby the windows were provided with small glazing bars. Below the eaves in the centre of the front facade a clock face with the date 1777 and in the attic the restored clockwork. The house stands in the inner moat and is earthed up; the narrow earthing is covered with field stones, according to old photographs a later addition.
