Omschrijving
Vroegere R.K. Kerk van de parochie Nieuwenhagen, thans inwendig verbouwd t.b.v. jeugdwerk. Uit baksteen eenbeukig opgetrokken in 1745; zadeldak; in 1792 naar voren vergroot en voorzien van voorgevel met pilasters en fronton, ornamentering uit natuursteen. Bouwwerk van algemeen belang, wegens oudheidkundige waarde en bovendien uit geschiedkundige oogpunt; voor de destijds onder Generaliteitsverhoudingen levende dorpsgemeenschap Nieuwenhagen fungeerde het gebouw als aan de overzijde van de Oostenrijkse Nederlandse grens exterritoriaal geplaatste schuil-of refugiekerk.

Description
Former R.C. Church of the parish Nieuwenhagen, now internally rebuilt for youth work. Erected of brick as a single-nave building in 1745; gabled roof; in 1792 enlarged to the front and provided with front facade with pilasters and pediment, ornamentation of natural stone. Building of general importance, because of archaeological value and moreover from a historical point of view; for the village community Nieuwenhagen then living under Generaliteitsverhoudingen conditions the building functioned as a shelter or refuge church placed extraterritorially on the other side of the Austrian Netherlands border.
