SCHACHTGEBOUW op het terrein Nulland van de Dominiale Mijn, in 1907 gebouwd als luchtschacht - uit dit jaar dateert de uit baksteen opgetrokken en met cement bestreken ronde middentoren - en in 1921 tevens ingericht voor transport - uit dat jaar dateren de gedeeltelijk in beton, gedeeltelijk in baksteen opgetrokken en met cement bestreken steunconstructie en het ophaalgebouw. De steunconstructie heeft een rechthoekige, aan de noordzijde in het midden halfrond uitgebouwde plattegrond, waarin de ronde toren in het midden vrijwel geheel is opgenomen. Boven een lage gesloten onderbouw met enkele rechthoekige vensters en aan de noordzijde een deur zijn de wanden tot halve hoogte aan de lange zijden met een vijftal bogen en aan de oostzijde en bij de halfronde uitbouw met rechtgesloten openingen doorbroken en daarboven aan de lange zijden met een dubbele reeks rechthoekige vensters. Boven de rechthoekige ombouw wordt de middentoren aan de oostzijde geschoord door een tweetal, met drie in grootte opklimmende rondbogen opengewerkte steunberen, die rusten op de gevels van de lange zijden van de ombouw, en wordt de halfronde uitbouw aan de noordzijde bekroond door een met rondboogjes opengewerkte balustrade. De middentoren heeft bovenin aan de oostzijde een tweetal smalle, rechthoekige openingen met in elk een schachtwiel, vanwaar de kabels door een tweetal vierkante openingen in de bovenzijde van de oostgevel van de ombouw naar het ophaalgebouw lopen. Het vlak-gedekte ophaalgebouw, voorzien van een aantal rondboogvensters, is door middel van een vlakgedekt tussenlid met de schacht verbonden. Bij de restauratie van de schacht in 1975-1976 is ten zuiden van het ophaalgebouw een ventilator geplaatst, afkomstig van de mijn Oranje Nassau I te Heerlen.

Description
SHAFT BUILDING on the Nulland site of the Dominiale Mine, built in 1907 as an air shaft - from this year dates the round central tower constructed of brick and rendered with cement - and in 1921 also fitted for transport - from that year date the support structure built partly in concrete, partly in brick and rendered with cement, and the winding house. The support structure has a rectangular footprint, rounded on the north side in the middle, in which the round tower is almost entirely contained in the middle. Above a low closed base with a few rectangular windows and a door on the north side, the walls are broken up to half height on the long sides by five arches and on the east side and at the rounded extension by closed openings, and above this on the long sides by a double row of rectangular windows. Above the rectangular surrounding structure the central tower on the east side is braced by a pair of openwork support buttresses with three arches of increasing size, which rest on the outer walls of the long sides of the surrounding structure, and the rounded extension on the north side is crowned by an openwork balustrade with rounded arches. The central tower has at the top on the east side two narrow rectangular openings each containing a shaft wheel, from which cables run through two square openings in the top of the east wall of the surrounding structure to the winding house. The flat-roofed winding house, equipped with a number of arched windows, is connected to the shaft by means of a flat-roofed link structure. During restoration of the shaft in 1975-1976 a ventilator, originating from the mine Oranje Nassau I at Heerlen, was installed south of the winding house.
