STOOMGEMAAL Kamerik Teylingens. Klein, voormalig scheprad (sinds 1907 centrifugaalpomp) stoomgemaal, gebouwd in 1871 (gedenksteen) in waterstaatsstijl, bouwwerk, waarin machinekamer en ketelruimte, onder zadeldak tussen puntgevels met schouderstukjes en natuurstenen deklijsten, spaarvelden met klimmende friezen, waarin rondboogvensters met gepleisterde geprofileerde omlijsting; rozetankers in lange gevels en latere, plat afgedekte, aanbouw eveneens rondboogvensters. Vrijstaande schoorsteen, in oorsprong 19 m. hoog, op vierkante sokkel. Inwendig een tandem-compoundstoommachine, ca. 80 P.K., gebouwd in 1907 door de N.V.Machinefabriek "Hoogelande" v.h. Pannevis en zoon Utrecht Holland (fabrikantenplaat op machine), waarvan wegens de toepassing van een electromotor als krachtbron in 1953 enkele stangen zijn weggenomen. De machine is direct gekoppeld aan een geheel gegoten (door de firma Pannevis en Zoon, 1907) centrifugaalpomp, welke nog steeds dienst doet; thans nog enige tandemcompound stoommachine die direct een centrifugaalpomp aandrijft, in Nederland. Goed voorbeeld van een klein stoomgemaal uit de bloeiperiode van het Nederlandse stoomgemaal (gebouwd 1871) en van het centrifugaalpompgemaal uit de eindfase (gebouwd 1907).

Description
STEAM PUMPING STATION Kamerik Teylingens. Small, former paddle-wheel (since 1907 centrifugal pump) steam pumping station, built in 1871 (commemorative stone) in public works style, building structure, containing engine room and boiler room, under a gabled roof between pointed gables with small corner stones and natural stone coping, spare fields with climbing friezes, with round-arch windows with plastered moulded framing; rose anchors in the long facades and later, flatly capped, annex likewise with round-arch windows. Freestanding chimney, originally 19 m high, on square base. Internally a tandem-compound steam engine, circa 80 hp, built in 1907 by the N.V. Machinefabriek "Hoogelande" formerly Pannevis and son Utrecht Holland (maker's plate on engine), of which some rods were removed in 1953 due to the use of an electric motor as power source. The engine is directly coupled to a wholly cast (by the firm Pannevis and Son, 1907) centrifugal pump, which is still in service; presently the only tandem-compound steam engine that directly drives a centrifugal pump in the Netherlands. Fine example of a small steam pumping station from the flourishing period of the Dutch steam pumping station (built 1871) and of the centrifugal pump station from the final phase (built 1907).
