De overblijfselen van de in 1821 ontmantelde vesting, bestaande uit een GEDEELTE van de WALLEN die in 1581 door de fortificatiemeester Jacob Kemp, schout van Gorinchem, werden aangelegd en die in 1630 nog werden uitgebreid en verbeterd; t.w. het bastion "Hollandia".
