Gepleisterd blok van twee woningen met verdiep onder met pannen gedekt mansardedak, waarvan de dakvoet t.b.v. de zoldervensters aan de voor en achterzijde in het midden is opgenomen, met geprofileerde houten gootlijsten en windveren; tegen de zijgevel van nr 59 aangebouwd een voormalig stalletje (thans keuken) onder met pannen gedekt zadeldak en daarachter een vlakgedekte aanbouw uit ca. 1955; tegen de zijgevel van nr 57 een in schoon metselwerk opgetrokken aanbouw met verdieping onder met pannen gedekt zadeldak; plint, hoekpilasters en decoratieve details in schoon metselwerk; getoogde vensters met getoogde bovendorpels. De woningen (1916-1917), gelegen temidden van de afzonderlijke erven, zijn een deel van de in 1913-1918 door de Oranje Nassau Mijnen gebouwde mijnwerkerskolonie 'Schaesberg', die door zijn stedebouwkundige aanleg en overeenkomsten in architectuur, kleur- en materiaalgebruik een eenheid vormt en die een der gaafste en voor Nederland vrij zeldzame voorbeelden is van de op de internationale, 19e eeuwse (XIX B) traditie gebaseerde arbeiderswoningbouw door industrielen.

Description
Plastered block of two dwellings with storey under mansard roof tiled with pans, of which the eave for the attic windows on the front and rear is incorporated in the middle, with moulded wooden gutter lists and wind vanes; against the side gable of no. 59 a former small stable (now kitchen) under tiled gabled roof and behind it a flat-roofed extension from circa 1955; against the side gable of no. 57 an extension built in fair-faced brickwork with storey under tiled gabled roof; plinth, corner pilasters and decorative details in fair-faced brickwork; arched windows with arched upper lintels. The dwellings (1916-1917), situated amidst individual plots, are part of the miners' colony 'Schaesberg' built in 1913-1918 by the Oranje Nassau Mines, which by its urban planning layout and similarities in architecture, colour and material use forms a unity and which is one of the most intact and for the Netherlands fairly rare examples of workers' housing construction based on 19th-century (second half of the 19th century) international tradition by industrialists.
