Omschrijving
Poortgebouw met woningen van de voormalige, in 1870 voor de firma Mennen gebouwde lucifersfabriek. Pand, opgetrokken in rode baksteen met gepleisterde plint, met verdieping, onder met oud-Hollandse pannen gedekte dwarskap (zadeldak) tussen tuitgevels. In de voorgevel op de begane grond twee rond- gesloten T-vensters met natuurstenen vensterbank en een drietal deuren met rondgesloten bovenlicht, alle omgeven door een brede, geprofileerde stucwerklijst; brede, getoogde inrijpoort met dubbele deur en omgeven door gladde stucwerklijst. Op de verdieping een zestal, licht getoogde T-vensters met aan drie zijden een gladde stucwerk omlijsting en aan de onderzijde afgesloten door natuurstenen waterlijst. Description
Gateway building with dwellings of the former match factory built for the firm Mennen in 1870. Building erected in red brick with plastered plinth, with storey, under saddle roof with closed ends between spout gables covered with old Dutch pantiles. In the front gable on the ground floor two closed round-ended T-windows with natural stone windowsill and three doors with closed round-ended fanlight, all surrounded by a wide, moulded stucco band; wide arched carriage entrance with double door and surrounded by a smooth stucco band. On the first floor a sextet of lightly arched T-windows with smooth stucco framing on three sides and closed at the bottom by natural stone drip moulding. Gable closed with slightly projecting band of ornamental brickwork. Staff anchors.
