Exterior description and setting
Long, single storey gabled dwelling, on the N side of the Saintfield Road c.1.5 miles W of the village of Killinchy.
Front S facade has a modern timber panelled and glazed door to the right of centre to the left of this is a window now with modern frame, with a similar window to the right. The far left are three taller windows with similar frames. These three window openings are modern as this half of the building once housed a shop with had two larger windows on either side of a double door.
To the left on the W gable is a timber sheeted door.
To the E gable is a small lean to extension with corrugated iron roof and a small modern window with modern frame, to the E facade and the short rear facade. Above this extension (on the gable) is a small attic window with modern frame.
To the far left on the main rear facade is a timber sheeted and glazed door flanked by two small windows with modern frames.
The entire facade is finished in rough cast with a smooth rendered recessed base. The roof has Bangor blue slates and three yellow brick chimney stacks. Three small Velux windows to left at rear. PVC rw goods.
Historical information
On the OS Map of 1859-60 two smaller buildings are shown on the site of this house, suggesting that the present property dates from the later decades of the nineteenth century. The western half of the building was a grocer’s shop until recent times.

Evaluation
Long, plain, single storey house of post 1860 construction whose western half was a grocer’s shop until recently. The shop front has now been removed and the window opening altered in the process.
