Exterior description and setting
A domestic ice house constructed of handmade brickwork with a hemispherical brick-vaulted dome on a circular plan. Entrance faces north; rectangular open doorway. Exterior of vault covered with cement render, much spalled.
SETTING: The ice house stands in the south-east corner of a field to the north of Glendaragh house in a very rural location, with an open aspect to the main road to the north.
Historical information
Built as a domestic ice house for the Glendaragh estate. Appears on the OS map of 1832-3.

Evaluation
This is an example of an ice house which displays typical structural form inside and is of local interest as part of the development of the Glendaragh estate but it has lost some of its original features.
