The Department's description

Second house from right in a terrace of eight identical three storey/ two bay late 19thC houses on N side of Church Street.

Pitched natural slate roof with large rendered chimney to left end of ridge shared with adjoining house. Moulded render eaves course carries ogee rainwater goods. Walls are lined rendered and painted. Continuous cill course at first floor level. Left bay is narrower than the right one and contains the main entrance set in a semicircular-headed opening with moulded stucco architrave and with decorative key block. Four panelled door with beaded muntin and raised, fielded and bolection moulded panels. Over is a plainly glazed radial fanlight, both are Directly above is a single 1/1 sliding sash window to each upper floor, that to first floor has an architrave as the doorcase and that to second floor is slightly diminished in height.

The right bay has a canted bay window rising full height, with canted roof tied into main roof and sharing common eaves. Each face of the bay window has a 1/1 sliding sash window with horns. Those to second floor are slightly diminished in height.

Small front garden is enclosed by a finely dressed granite dwarf wall that carries hoop topped railings with alternating foliated finials.

Left and right gables are party walls with the adjacent houses (HB16/11/033F and HB16/11/033H).

Rear (NE) elevation is abutted to right bay by a two storey return. Walls of exposed rear elevation are rendered and unpainted. On left bay each floor has a 2/2 (vertically divided) sliding sash window with horns and painted cill. That to second floor is diminished in height. All windows are as this unless otherwise stated. At right between first and second floors is a similar half-landing window.

Return has a pitched natural slate roof with advanced eaves course carrying plastic rainwater goods. Walls are rendered and painted. Its left cheek has a selection of modern stained timber top-hung casement windows. To first floor right is a small 2/2 sliding sash window. Its end gable has a large modern stained timber casement window to ground floor and a tiny casement to first floor right.

Enclosing rear of the small domestic yard is a two storey outbuilding with pitched natural slate roof. Walls are dashed and painted. There is a single window to each floor. That to ground floor is a 2/2 sliding sash window. T first floor is a six paned casement with former timber slats. Abutting left end to front is a small lean-to toilet.

X. Local Interest

One of eight houses in a terrace on Church Street. The terrace has been affected by alterations but is still a significant set piece in the town. This house has been altered and has lost some of its original fabric.
