The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A single segmental span carries a minor road over the Leitrim River. It is of random rubble schist and granite throughout, with dressed voussoirs. Squared granite rubble is used on the abutment quoins and parapets. A metal pipe is carried under the soffit. The wing walls curve out slightly at both ends. Part of the downstream parapet has been rebuilt in concrete blocks.
Historical information
A wooden bridge is cited on the 1834 OS 6" map. 'Leitrim bridge' is cited on the 1859 map, indicating a mid 19th century date of erection.
