The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
Footbridge over River Bann immediately downstream of a ford. Comprises four metal girder spans carried on shuttered concrete piers and abutments. The piers taper inwards from bottom to top and have angled cutwaters to deck level. The deck, which rises slightly towards the middle pier, is of concrete cast between the side girders and on falsework formed by slightly arched corrugated metal (some of which still survives in situ). Handrail of three horizontal bars, externally braced and terminating in square capped concrete pillars at both ends. Width of bridge 1.07m (3ft 6in).

Evaluation
Primarily of technical interest in terms of its pragmatic in situ construction. This was also used at several other bridges on the Bann which have subsequently been upgraded (HB16/07/045, HB16/07/049).
