Exterior description and setting

Two storey/ four bay former rectory aligned NE-SW along road to SW of Holy Trinity C of I Church (HB12/01/028).

Pitched natural slate roof with advanced eaves course supporting metal rainwater goods. Three cement-dashed chimneys - one between each bay. Plain timber bargeboards to gables.

Principal elevation faces SE. Walls are cement dashed and painted over coursed sandstone blocks. Smooth rendered and painted basecourse and quoins to façade only. Bays 1, 2 and 4 have a window to each floor. Bay 3 has contains the entrance door within a shallow semi-elliptical opening. Door is t+g sheeted with flanking ¾-height sidelights each with a 1/1 panes. Over is a fanlight with sunburst glazing. Aligned above to first floor is a window. All windows are timber top-hung casements with painted jambs and stone cills. They are equally aligned but unequally spaced.

Left and right gables each have a window to each floor.

Rear elevation is unpainted and abutted to right-end and centre by full height lean-to addition and a two-storey return respectively, both detailed as house. The exposed bays each have a window to each floor. Linking the addition to the rear return is a corrugated metal canopy. The rear face of the return has a window to each floor; its left and right cheeks are blank. The addition has a window to ground floor; its left cheek has a t+g sheeted door and its right cheek is blank and flush with right gable of main block.
