Exterior description and setting

Building demolished and replaced by a large barn. Only outbuildings and entrance gates remain. Outbuildings are in a ruinous condition and similar to many in the area with rubble basalt walls and brick trims to windows. Entrance gates are set in a curved recess of basalt with basalt gate piers and copings surmounted by balls. Part of a plaque formerly over the entrance door, now sits at the back door of Mr Kelly’s bungalow, lettering is badly eroded.

This building was described in the first survey in October 1974 as 'A two storey, 5 bay rendered house with unrecessed 12 pane Georgian glazing, reduced to 9 pane on upper floor. The roof is slated, there are 4 symmetrically placed chimneys. The panelled door is surmounted by a rectangular fanlight with pointed astrigals - Derelict.'

Historical information

Formerly a six bay, two storey rendered house, with Georgian sash windows and door with fanlight. Indicated on 1831 map though much expanded between the 1856 and 1906 surveys. Described as the residence of Mrs Lecky in the Ordnance Survey Memoirs. Building derelict when visited by the U A H S in the late 1960s. It was demolished five years ago.
