The National Monuments Service's description
Depicted as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) described as 'Site of R.C. Chapel' on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated in a quarry on a steep wooded and NW-facing slope down to a SW-NE stream which is c. 20m distant. This is a rectangular area (dims. 10.5m E-W; 5m N-S) partly dug into the quarry face at the W end with slight traces of a wall foundation on the N side. There is no evidence of an enclosure or burial at ground level. It is probably a penal chapel.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
