The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a rectangular enclosure (dims. c. 35m NE-SW; c. 27m NW-SE) with banks or moats on its SE and SW sides only on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated in the narrow flat-bottomed valley of a SW-NE stream, which is c. 10m to the SE. This is a rectangular grass-covered area (dims 33m N-S; 24m E-W) defined by slight traces of moats (max. Wth 5m; D 0.2m). There are traces of a leat into the N corner and a possible leat at the S corner leading to the stream.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
