The National Monuments Service's description
Situated towards the W edge of the plateau of a NW-SE spur in the foothills of the Blackstairs Mountains with the NW-SE Boro River c. 500m to the SW. It was described in the 1940s as a circular area (diam. c. 35m) defined by an earthen bank, with a fosse surviving NE-SE where there was an outer field bank. There were modem entrances at N and S (SMR file). It has been removed since the 1960s and is now visible as a slightly raised, grass-covered area (dims. 52m N-S; 46m E-W; H 0.2-0.3m) area, with traces of a fosse WSW-ENE. It is visible as the cropmark of a bivallate enclosure on aerial photographs (MM (1) 18-21). Rath (WX024-005----) is c. 130m to the NW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
