The National Monuments Service's description
Excavated (E3488) during 2005 by T. Breen as Site 24 at Raheenagurren West, which was one of the excavations undertaken in advance of the construction of the N11 Arklow-Gorey link-road. Situated on a gentle NE-facing slope. A layer of broken and burnt stone (dims. 14m x 8m; max. T 0.02m) overlay a slightly larger extent of silty grey clay (T 0.1m), which overlay a rectangular trough (dims. 1.1m x 0.46m; D 0.19m) cut into the subsoil. There were also two other pits (diam. 0.87m; D 0.33: dims. 0.55m x 0.46m; D 0.18m) and some concentrations of post-holes. Fulacht fia (WX012-034002-) is c. 35m to the ENE. (Breen 2008, 2008a)
