The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in a low-lying area. Marked as a D-shaped embanked enclosure (ext. dims. c. 55m E-W; c. 45m N-S) backing onto an E-W field bank on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and as a hachured area (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1925 ed. This is an oval scrub-covered area (dims. 31m N-S; 24m E-W) defined by earthen bank (Wth 7-9m; int. H 1-1.5m; ext. H 1.3-3m) with external fosse (Wth of top 5-6m; ext. D 0.3-0.6m). There is no visible entrance and there is a marl pit outside the perimeter at SE. There was intense activity outside the rath within c. 150m of the perimeter SE-SW during prehistory (WX012-034001- to WX012-034009-).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
