The National Monuments Service's description
Described in 1976 as a motte situated on a slight natural rise of ground surrounded by gently undulating countryside with extensive views in all directions. Site consists of a high, steep sided flat-topped mound (top diam. c.17.6m N-S; 14.2m E-W) of earth and stone with slight remains of a fosse at the base of the motte. Small stones are visible in the side of the motte where it is slightly defaced in places. A modern field boundary encloses the base of the motte from N-E-S-W-WNW. There are no visible traces of a bailey. The upper edge of the motte has been slightly defaced so that the original shape of the top is uncertain.
