The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on top of a steep hillock, in undulating pasture with good views in all directions, including toward Lough Ennell which is visible to W. Annotated ‘Fort’ on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map and depicted as a large circular-shaped tree-planted earthwork (approx. dims. 51.5m N-S; 50m E-W) defined by a scarp. Monument described in 1971 as no surface remains visible. The siting would be suitable for a ringfort. Outline of levelled monument visible today on Digital Globe aerial photographs.
