The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the base of a SW-facing slope of a high ridge, in rough pasture, with good views to SE. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a substantial oval-shaped earthwork. Not depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map.
Monument described in 1970 as a roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 52m NW-SE; 50m NE-SW) enclosed by a well-defined scarp and a fosse. The scarp (approx. H 1.2m) is slightly defaced at SE and there is a slight depression at SW that may represent the entrance (Wth at top 12m; basal Wth 7m). There is a slight shallow fosse from S-W-WNW. The perimeter is obscured by the corner of a field boundary at NW. A modern depression running NW-SE from this corner crosses the NW quadrant of the interior. Levelled monument is visible today on Digital Globe aerial photography as a circular-shaped cropmark defined by differential growth which appears to delineate a backfilled fosse.
