The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the demesne lands of Kinturk House located 265m to NE. A stone-built domed circular chamber covered by a mound of earth. To the NE are the collapsed remains of rectangular outer chamber, or possible entrance passage.
Icehouse described by the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (NIAH) as a, 'Freestanding icehouse on circular plan, c.1820, with projecting rubble stone porch adjoining to north side. Now disused and overgrown with vegetation. Square-headed door opening with stone lintel over. Domed interior lined with buff brick lining for insulation with a circular aperture at the top of the chamber. Located behind former farmyard buildings of Kinturk House (15302016) and close to the former walled garden of this estate (15302010).' (NIAH Reg.
