The National Monuments Service's description
On a very gentle W-facing slope overlooking a stream. The remains of the church (WI047-006001-) and enclosure are depicted on the 1838 OS 6-inch map and named 'Site of Kilcavan Church'. The enclosure is depicted as a semi-circular area (diam. c. 28m E-W), a field boundary runs E-W through what may have been the centre of the enclosure. It is not visible at ground level. A crude Latin cross (WI047-006003-) has been incorporated in the field boundary immediately S of the church.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
