The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in low-lying poorly drained terrain. A large oval enclosure (dims. c. 200m N-S; 100m E-W) shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, of which only part of the E perimeter survives. This consists of an earthen bank (Wth 2-2.5m; H 1-1.2m) forming a field boundary. Parts of the remaining perimeter are also encompassed within field boundaries. There is a slight external fosse (Wth 1.6-1.8m; D 0.5m) and the interior is dry and level. (Price 1945, 53)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
