The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in the valley of the S-N Ballymoat stream with the canalised stream immediately to the W. First identified in archaeological testing (02E0318) in advance of the N25 Waterford City by-pass (O'Hara 2006), and fully excavated (03E1215) as Killoteran 7 (Purcell 2006).
A mound of broken and burnt stones (dims. 22m N-S; 8m E-W; T 1.1m) overlay an oval pit (dims. 1.4m x c. 1m; D 0.17m) at its centre. A trough cut out of a piece of timber (dims. 2.6m x 1m; D 0.65m) and held in place by wooden pegs was at the N edge of the mound. The mound was truncated at W by the canalised stream.
