The National Monuments Service's description
Ballynamona Estate was owned by the Carew family in the 18th century, and by the middle of the century they had built a deerpark here enclosing 348 acres (Smith 1746, Pl. 1). The enclosing wall generally survives in good condition (H c. 2m).
