The National Monuments Service's description
Marked only on the 1951 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a slight N-S wooded ridge. Described as a 16th century brick tower on the site of an older tower (Bence-Jones 1975, 17), it is marked on a Taylor and Skinner map surmounted by a cross (1778, 164). A square masonry plinth (dims. 6.15m x 6.15m) supports an octagonal brick tower (H c. 6m). Internally it is divided in two by a N-S masonry wall, and an entrance at N leads to a stone stairs on the E side of the wall. It is probably a folly.
