The National Monuments Service's description
Situated towards the top of a S-facing slope. Subcircular grass and heather-covered area (dims. 45m NW-SE; 41m NE-SW) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.4m at SW (downslope) to 1.5m at NE; ext. H 1m generally to1.5m at SW). The outer fosse (Wth of top 3.3-4.5m; ext. D 0.6m generally to 1.8m at NE) is rock-cut on the outside N-NE but does not survive SW-W. The entrance (Wth 2.6m) is at SW and there is some ancient quarrying in the interior at WSW.
