The National Monuments Service's description

Marked on the 1840 and 1927 eds. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a heather-covered shelf of the Comeragh Mountains, overlooking the col between the mountains and Croughaun Hill to the E. Rectangular structure (ext. dims. 19.5m N-S; 10m E-W) defined by the foundations of a clay-bonded stone wall (Wth 1-1.2m; H 0.6-1m). A possible entrance is visible towards the N end of each of the long walls, that on the W having an external rebate at E, perhaps for a doorpost. No original internal divisions are discernible, but two drystone cells are built against the inner face of the N wall.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
