The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as a circular embanked feature on the 1840 (ext. diam. c. 30m) and the 1928 (ext. diam. c. 45m) eds of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on a severe NE-facing slope down to the NW-SE Tay stream, which is c. 120m to the NE. This is a slightly dished, grass-covered sub-circular area (dims. 34m NW-SE; 30m NE-SW) enclosed by a curving field bank W-N (C 20m).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
