The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a gentle E-facing slope in the upper Tay river valley. Oval grass-covered area (dims. 43m N-S; 29m E-W) defined by a stone-faced earth and stone bank (Wth 1.5-2m; int. H 0.9-1.4m; ext. H 0.7-1.3m) with some bushes. The stone-lined entrance (Wth 2m) is at W, but there is no visible fosse. The site is circumscribed by a field wall N-S at a distance of 4-5m.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
