The National Monuments Service's description
Excavated (03E0409) by Aidan O'Connell of Archaeological Consultancy Services in advance of the Waterford city by-pass. It is associated with fulacht fia (WA009-023----) and situated c. 1m SE of its rectangular trough, but at a slightly higher level. A cut (diam. c. 1m; D 0.2m) contained a charcoal mix and there are some associated stake-holes. (O'Connell 2006c)
