The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture on an E-facing slope overlooking a valley, in rough pasture. A medieval church and graveyard (TS072-002---- and TS072-002001-) lie c. 300m to the ESE. A sub-rectangular area (dims. 28m N-S; 26m E-W) defined by an earthen bank at N (L16m), E (L 22m); S (L 19m) and W (L c. 23m) which is rounded at the corners and an external fosse (Wth 5.6m; D 1.0m) visible from SW-W-NE. The bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.45m; Wth 6.3m) is lower on the downslope W side and higher (Wth 6.1m; int. H 1.05m; ext. H 1.8m) on the upslope E side. A possible entrance (Wth 2.0m) at the ESE, with causeway (Wth 5m), was identifed during an inpection in 1987 (OPW files). There is a breach (Wth 2.5m) in the bank at the NW and another breach (Wth 4m) at the SW. Within the interior there is a higher platform (dims. 14m N-S; 11m E-W) upslope to the W, which is separated from the downslope eastern area of the interior by a scarp (Wth 7.5m; H 1.6m). The field boundary to the E has been removed and the embankment of the N76 Clonmel-Kilkenny road is c. 35m to the W.
