The National Monuments Service's description

Lying in the floor near the N wall, towards the E end of the nave of the medieval parish church of St John the Baptist (TS070-040001-), currently the organ room of Holy Trinity C of I church. It lies 0.9m S of Ann and Peter Cooke's graveslab (TS070-040096-) and 1.6m E of the W wall of the organ room. This limestone fragment, only portion of which is accessible (dims. 0.28m x 0.17m) continues under the wooden housing of the organ where it is visible, but not accessible, for a further c. 0.25m), it may continue E and S but this area is obscured by the organ and a wooden plinth W of the organ housing. This is a border fragment with an inscription in latin, in Black Letter script, which includes the word: HACKET. It may be the Hacket tomb, or part of, identified and transcribed by Brennan (1864-66, 17) as: HIC JACET TER. PATRICIUS HACKETT QUI OBIIT VIIo DIE MARTII ANO DNI 1675. THOMAS HACKETT FRATER ME FIERI FECITT ANNO Mo. DCo. LXXXo. This translates as, 'Here lies Patrick Hacket who died the 7th day of March in the year of Our Lord 1675. Thomas Hacket, brother, had me made in the year of Our Lord 1680. Brennan's transcription in Gothic script suggests that the original was in Black Letter script.
