The National Monuments Service's description
An area c. 40m x 40m was excavated in advance of construction of the N8 Cashel Bypass and N74 Link Road South on the sloping ground c. 20m to the S of a small lake. The excavation revealed a concentration of activity in the form of pits and post-holes (TS061-159----). In the marshland at the eastern edge of the excavated area a fulacht fia was partially uncovered. It consisted of a sub-circular pit or trough (Wth 1.16m; D 0.2m) containing black sandy silt with charcoal and burnt sandstone with associated pits containing similar material (O'Flanagan 2004, 12 - unpublished excavation report). Two pit-burials (TS061-160----; TS061-162----) were located c. 40m to the W and a kiln (TS061-168----) was located c. 20m to the NW.
