The National Monuments Service's description

An area c. 40m x 40m was excavated in advance of construction of the N8 Cashel Bypass and N74 Link Road South on the sloping ground to the S of a small lake. The excavation revealed a concentration of activity in the form of pits and post-holes (TS061-159----). Near the western edge of the excavated area, a pit-burial was uncovered (O'Flanagan 2006, 472). This consisted of a shallow sub-circular pit (0.31m N-S x 0.37m E-W; D 0.005m) with a flat to concave base, filled with dark brown black silty clay with a profusion of charcoal and occasional cremated bone. Another pit-burial is located 8m to the SSW (TS061-162----) (O'Flanagan 2004, 11). A kiln (TS061-168----) was located c. 10m S of the lake and the trough of a fulacht fia (TS061-163----) was uncovered at the eastern edge of the excavated area (ibid.).
