The National Monuments Service's description
Lying in the choir of the cathedral (TS061-025003-) on the Rock of Cashel. The upper portion of a rectangular slab (L 0.87m; Wth 0.82m) which has a crack on the dexter side (Maher 1997, 73). It is decorated with a seven-armed segmental fleur-de-lis cross, carved in relief (ibid.) with a knop at the base of the cross-head surmounting the cross-shaft. A latin inscription, in Black Letter script, runs along the dexter and sinister side of the slab, though all that survives is: HIC JACET / ..AIT (ibid.). This slab appears to be that described by FitzGerald (1901-03, vol. 5, 442) as the 'upper half of an eight-armed cross slab, the inscription on which is too weather-worn to be legible'.
