The National Monuments Service's description
In level, low-lying area of good pasture, within an old flood plain. A square area (dims. 18m N-S; 16m E-W) defined by the remains of a possible bank (Wth 7.8m; int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.9m), a fosse (Wth 8-8.8m; D 0.5-0.75m) and an outer bank (Wth 6-7.7m; int. H 0.5m-0.75m; ext. H 0.2-0.25m) at N, E and mid-way along S-side. The inner bank is only visible on the N side (L 16m), otherwise it is reduced to scarp (Wth 3.5m; H 0.75m) on the S (L 16m), W (L 18m) and E (L 18m) sides. The interior has a gentle W-facing slope and is slightly uneven in places. There is a possible ring-barrow (TS059-112006-) off-centre to NE within. The field is called 'Knockannahoirky Field' on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map.
