The National Monuments Service's description
In level, low-lying area of good pasture, within an old flood plain. Circular area (diam. 32m) defined by scarp (Wth 6m; H 1.5m), a well-preserved fosse (Wth 13.1m; D 1m) and an outer bank (Wth 7.35m; int. H 1m; ext. H 0.01m) from SW-NE. There is a possible entrance (Wth 8m) at the E, where there is a dip in the scarp. Livestock have eroded the scarp at the NNE, S and E. The interior is in lush pasture and contains ring-barrow (TS059-112007-) which abuts the edge of the scarp at N. There is also a possible ring-barrow (TS059-112006-) c. 60m to the NNE, a ring-barrow (TS059-112009-) c. 115m to the SW and a possible embanked barrow (TS059-112008-) c. 130m to S. The field is called 'Knockannahoirky Field' on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map.
