The National Monuments Service's description
In Derryvella bog, located to the SE of another peatland structure (TS048-066---). Visible on the field surface, this structure (Wth 0.68m; D 0.13m; L 2.9m) was composed of a longitudinally laid roundwood (diam. 0.17m; L 2.2m), a plank (Wth 0.33m; visible L 0.7m) and a partially visible brushwood (diam. 0.04m; L 0.35m) transverse at the NE end of the roundwood. The roundwood was orientated E-W and the transverse N-S. The plank was orientated NW-SE and appeared to be displaced. The underlying peat was composed of poorly humified sphagnum peat with frequent eriophorum inclusions. A single piece of wood was identified as fagus.
