The National Monuments Service's description
On the eastern side of Derryvella Bog and was visible in the drain face 0.06m below the field surface. It was composed of regularly laid longitudinal brushwood, with a single brushwood element running parallel 0.2m to the SE. The togher was orientated NW–SE and was in a poor state of preservation. The elements measured, on average, 0.35m in length and 0.3m in diameter. Approximately 10m to the E a single brushwood element and peg were visible on the field surface. It is possible that these elements are associated with the togher. The underlying peat was composed of poorly humified sphagnum peat with occasional eriophorum and calluna inclusions. A single piece of wood was identified as hazel.
