The National Monuments Service's description
A peatland survey carried out in 2006 by Archaeological Development Services recorded a platform measuring in ‘width 2.45m, depth 0.45, known length 0.7m’ (Whitaker 2006, 31). Described by Whitaker (2006, 31) as ‘this site was visible in the drain face, 0.04m below the field surface, and in the drain face to the west of TN-BLG003b. It was composed of irregularly laid roundwood elements and a plank fragment. The site appeared to be orientated north–south and was moderately well preserved. The roundwood measured between 0.06 and 0.18m in diameter. The peat was composed of poorly humified Sphagnum with occasional Calluna and moderate Eriophorum. Two pieces of wood were identified as ash and yew’.
