Road - class 2 togher

Surveyed by ADS in 2006 and described as measuring in width 0.9-2.6m, depth 0.04-0.07m, length 20m. Described by Whitaker as (2006, 74) as ‘this possible togher was visible at two sightings that were recorded on the field surface of opposing fields. It was orientated west-northwest/east-southeast and had been extensively milled. The elements were sparsely laid, which is possibly due to prolonged exposure to machine damage. TI-LTNP015a, 223612, 159122, Width 2.6m, Depth 0.07m. This sighting was located at the western end of this possible togher, to the south of TI-LTNO014a. It was exposed on the field surface and was composed of one transverse roundwood and three transverse fragmented brushwood elements, all of which were orientated northeast-southwest. The elements were poorly preserved and had been milled on their upper sides. They were sparsely laid and measured 0.6 to 1.2m in length and 0.02 to 0.1m in diameter. The peat was composed of poorly humified Sphagnum-rich peat with occasional Calluna and Eriophorum inclusions’
