The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in pasture on a fairly steep SE-facing slope in an upland area with a nearby ringfort (TN034-088) to the N. A circular area (diam. 35m N-S; 34m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 1.7-4m; int. H 1.35m; ext. H 0.85m) which has been levelled in the NW quadrant. Stone revetment from a later field boundary is visible in the E sector. No fosse or entrance feature visible. Wall-footings of a nineteenth-century rectangular house attached to the W side of the enclosure indicate possible reuse as a garden boundary.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
